Manage your sites from anywhere
WindSync works on a browser or mobile device so that users can keep track of sites from the office or on the road. Cyber security in wind SCADA is paramount. WindSync uses secure cloud servers and VPN technology to ensure data is secure.
Never miss an issue
Some turbine issues are not detected by the turbine control system. WindSync alerts pick up issues that would otherwise go unnoticed. From sensor failure to power curtailments to over production, WindSync helps ensure that monitoring teams never miss an issue.
Eliminate unnecessary site visits
WindSync SCADA provides full supervisory control including fault clearance, setpoint configuration. It also helps with those site specific tasks that eat up time such as remote G59 resets, noise/flicker management and PLC clock syncing.
Keep track of site activity
All user actions are recorded and displayed in WindSync alongside the event log. Notes, tags and groups allow control room teams and site technicians to track key site events and information.
Analyse performance and downtime
WindSync identifies under performance issues and quantifies lost energy due to underperformance and downtime.
Key Features
Real-time monitoring
24/7 monitoring of production and sensor data and alarms and statuscodes. Email and SMS notifications of OEM and non-OEM alarms.
Fault clearance
Remote stop/start/reset, yaw, configuration of turbine setpoints and parameters, alarm bypass and PLC clock syncing.
Email alerting
Automated email with shutdown events and performance issues for immediate response and reduced downtime.
Performance analysis
Power curves with change over time analysis, performance based lost production calculation, performance drop notifications.
Downtime analysis
Event log analysis, breakdown of major contributors to downtime by duration and lost production, availability and technical availability calculations.
Third-party integration
API providing SCADA data access to third parties such as CMS systems, secondary SCADA, data analysts and asset managers.
FAQs
On older turbines, the original SCADA system may not be suitable for several reasons. In many cases, the OEM SCADA was designed before modern communications and security practices were implemented making it unsuitable for modern fleet monitoring and control. In other cases, the original controllers are replaced and a new SCADA system is needed to match.
WindSync is a primary SCADA software solution which is used by operators to monitor and control wind turbines. WindSync replaces the original OEM SCADA system and is typically used on post warranty wind turbines.
WindSync is compatible with serval types of wind turbine including Vestas, Nordex, Endurance, Powerwind, Bonus, Micon, turbines using Deif controllers and several others. If you are looking for a retrofit SCADA solution and want to know if WindSync will work with your sites, contact us and we will let you know.

SCADA for Vestas turbines
Posted on September 24, 2024
There are several hundred Vestas wind turbines in the UK. Many of these have been installed in recent years and are operated and maintained by Vestas. However, a significant proportion of Vestas turbines in the UK are several years old and are operated and maintained by independent service providers (ISP)....
